Miriam Zoila Pérez (who also goes by Pérez and uses they/them pronouns), is a queer Cuban American writer and activist based in Washington, DC. Their non-fiction writing has appeared in outlets like The New York Times, and their debut young adult (YA) fiction novel, Camila Núñez’s Year of Disasters, was published in 2025. They’ve also spent almost two decades supporting social justice non-profits with strategic communications, and in 2024 they began working as a certified YNAB money coach, helping individuals and couples find alignment in their financial lives.
